Report on Unite Against Austerity, 30 May 2015

posted 31 May 2015, 12:26 by People's Assembly Oxford   [ updated 31 May 2015, 13:13 ]

Around 150 people marched against Tory cuts in Oxford today. Postal workers, teachers, health workers and students marched alongside anti cuts and community campaigners. The demo was upbeat with a clear message and renewed determination that we would unite and fight Tory cuts every step of the way. Following a brief sit down protest at the top of the high street protesters marched to to the steps of the Sheldonian theatre where a number of speakers addressed different aspects of the cuts, with appeals for a united fight back and a condemnation of attempts to divide us with racist scapegoating.
