ACCESS INFO 20 JUNE DEMO

Note:  Oxfordshire buses will drop off again at the short march route and Dan Fearnley will be staying with this group as a bus steward.  

BSL Interpreters
There will be BSL interpreters on stage for the speeches at both ends of the march.
Some of the stewards will also be interpreters - this will be clear on their jackets.
 
Getting to Bank
Bank station is very likely to be closed on the day.
The closest open station will be Cannon Street - this is about 5 mins from the Bank area.
From the tube there is step-free access from the Westbound platform only.

Cannon Street has an accessible toilet - this will be the closest one to Bank.
 
Short march

For people who don't want to do the whole route there will be a short march.

This will meet on Whitehall, opposite Downing Street from 1.30pm. It will join the rest of the march as it comes down Whitehall towards Parliament Square.
 
Once at Parliament Square, there will be a safe area in front of the stage for wheelchair users, should they wish to use it.
 
The nearest accessible station is Westminster, on the Jubilee line.
The following buses also stop near Westminster: 11, 24, 148, 211, 88
 
Getting to Westminster from Kings Cross by tube
From Kings Cross mainline underground entrance 

Lift C or D go to -1 Upper Ticket Hall 

Lift H go to level 2 interchange - level incline on interchange level  
Long walk on interchange level 
Swap to lift J, go to level 3 Piccadilly line 
Stand at the raised platform to right 

Take Westbound train to Green Park

Interchange to Jubilee line 

Lift D to interchange level 
Long walk on interchange level 

Lift E to platform level  
Southbound platform Jubilee line
Take raised platform to right 

Southbound train to Westminster 

Turn right 

Take Lift D to 0 District and Circle Westbound 

Take Lift C to ticket hall level 

Exit ticket barrier 

Take lift A to street level 


For the short march starting point
Go straight forward on to street and then turn right

Turn right on Parliament Street and walk down towards the area opposite Downing Street 

For Parliament Square 

Cross Bridge Street at the crossing 

Cross to the middle of St Margaret Street 

Then cross into Parliament Square
 
 
Toilets
The nearest disabled toilets will be:
- In the cafe at Westminster Central Hall (open until 4pm)
- Costa in Trafalgar Square
- St Stephen's Tavern, by Westminster station
